On June 14, 2023 The Jon Rarick/Josh Torrey Octet performed Bob Brookmeyer/Zoot Sim’s 1958 release, “Stretching Out”, at Chris Anderson’s Jazz Record Art Collective in Chicago.
The Octet included Jon Rarick - trumpet, Josh Torrey - trombone, Natalie Scharf - tenor sax, Ted Hogarth - bari/tenor, Geordie Kelly - guitar, Jeremy Kahn - piano, Joe Policastro - bass, and Joel Baer - drums.
Visual artist Alex Puryear created artwork in response to the music.
