Chopin IN The City Festival Returns for Its 9th Year! Featuring an Iconic Closing Night Performance with Urszula Dudziak!

The Sounds and Notes Foundation is thrilled to announce the return of the 9th Annual Chopin IN The City Festival, running February 21st through March 2nd, 2025. This year’s festival promises a captivating journey through music, art, and culture, with a lineup featuring world-renowned musicians, vocalists, and artists who will honor the legacy of Fryderyk Chopin while reimagining his genius through contemporary performances that transcend genres and borders.

The festival will culminate in an electrifying Closing Night performance, bringing together the legendary jazz icon Urszula Dudziak with acclaimed vocalists Grazyna Auguscik and Dee Alexander for the first time ever on one stage. This once-in-a-lifetime collaboration is set to be an unforgettable highlight of the festival.

“We are honored to welcome Urszula Dudziak, a Polish music legend who has inspired generations of artists,” said Grazyna Auguscik, internationally celebrated jazz artist and founder of the festival. “Sharing the stage with her and Dee Alexander for the first time in Chicago is a dream come true! This performance will be a historic moment for our festival and for Chicago’s music scene.”


Festival Highlights Include:

World-class performances from acclaimed artists, including pianists, vocalists, jazz ensembles, & more. Painting Chopin: A family favorite where young artists create live art inspired by music.A diverse lineup, including choreographed rhythm performances, theater productions, modern jazz, and contemporary classical music.


Events will take place at premier venues across Chicago, including the Forest View Educational Center, Green Mill Jazz Club, Polish Museum of America, Constellation, and the Copernicus Center. The festival kicks off with an exclusive opening night at the Polish Consulate on February 21st.


The Chopin IN The City Festival is presented by the Sounds and Notes Foundation, a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to connecting diverse artists and audiences through collaborative concerts, festivals, and educational initiatives.
